With 19 sites across 6 countries, including the UK, Poland, Germany and Spain, FutureMeds plays a critical role in accelerating drug development by providing high-quality patient-centric clinical trial sites for pharmaceutical/biotech companies and clinical research organisations (CRO). With increasing demand for efficient and professionally managed trial sites, the company is well positioned to expand its footprint across Europe.

THE HGL PRIVATE CAPITAL DIFFERENCE:

HGL Private Capital initially invested in FutureMeds in 2021, providing growth capital to support organic growth and accelerate their buy-and-build programme.

Since the deal, FutureMeds has grown from six sites in 2021 to now operating from 28 locations spanning Poland, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine. In the UK, FutureMeds has staff in Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Newcastle and Teesside.
Besides building density, FutureMeds acquired a decentralised clinical trial service with 12 years of track record. With the operational and commercial support of the FutureMeds team, this service is available in 18 European countries and has established expansion capabilities to launch in any country within a 4-week start-up window.
FutureMeds is set to further increase its footprint and adoption of decentralised trials in Europe, enhancing patient access to trials and aiding clients in delivering and commercialising innovative medications more quickly.

HGL Private Capital delivered additional funding in 2023 to provide cash-out to the existing management team as well as further funding for more buy-and-build opportunities.
